Psychotherapy refers in general to the treatment of emotional and mental disorders. Psychotherapy involves talking about the condition of the patient with the mental health professional. There are different types of psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is a multi-task involving psychological therapy, counseling, talk therapy and more. Psychotherapy sessions are useful to you because of several reasons like

System of rewards is also typically used in behavior therapy. Desensitizing can be defined as a process of confrontation of something that arouses discomfort and fear and the ways to overcome them. For example if you have the habit of excessively cleansing your clothes, then behavior therapy will teach you techniques to stop this.

Art Therapy

Art therapy is also known as creative therapy. Art therapy helps people who find it difficult to express their feelings and thoughts. Art therapy fosters positive experiences and increases your self awareness and will help you cope with traumatic experiences and symptoms. Poetry, painting, drawing, drama, dance and music are used in art therapy.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical behavior therapy is a type of therapy, which is a kind of cognitive behavior therapy. The primary objective of dialectical behavior therapy is to instruct you on behavioral skills which, will help you in improving your relationship with others, regulate your emotions and tolerate stress. For persons who have borderline personality disorder dialectical behavior therapy is used. However, with time dialectical behavior therapy is used for other patients too.

Interpersonal Therapy

This psychological therapy focuses on a person’s relationship with other persons. The aim of interpersonal therapy is improving interpersonal skills regarding, how a person relate to others like colleagues, friends and family. This therapy teaches you to assess your interactions with others and to build up strategies regarding communication problems and relationship.
